My name is June Gunaratne and I have a son, Buddha, who has taught me that I can be a nurturer! I named the blog ‘low key nurturer’ because I was surprised that I could be a caretaker. I try to remain positive in the face of pretty common adversities and I’m doing the best I can.

I graduated in 2015 with a BA in International Relations & Global Studies concentrating on Culture, Media & Arts from the University of Texas at Austin.🤘🏽I was fortunate enough to study abroad three times during my undergraduate career to New Zealand, Cuba and Guatemala.

When I was younger I began my primary education in Thailand before moving back to the states where I continued my education in Houston, Tx. These international experiences were formative and shaped my viewpoint and mind about the richness of the human experience.

I began this blog initially as a way to stay in touch while I was abroad but it never caught traction until I began blogging about my son. I work full time and I do photography on the side, you can find my portfolio here.

I am based in the Austin, Texas area and can travel to Houston; I specialize in Lifestyle photography. If you would like to know more you can visit my personal instagram (@tinyjune) or photography instagram (@smartcookiephoto).

Topics I like to cover are: motherhood, art and travel.
